The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) is the nation’s public-private partnership for suicide prevention, based at EDC. The Action Alliance brings together senior executives from government, business, and the non-profit sector to champion suicide prevention as a national priority and advance implementation of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention through collaboration and innovation.

Job Description

EDC, with support from the federally funded Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC), is hiring a full-time Director of the Action Alliance Executive Committee (EXCOM).

The EXCOM Director is responsible for leading overall efforts to recruit, engage, and support the EXCOM –comprised of senior leaders from diverse sectors (e.g., mental health, construction, entertainment, news media, health care, public safety, technology) and federal agencies.  The EXCOM Director provides strategic direction and oversight to Action Alliance Task Forces and Advisory Groups and works closely with the Action Alliance Director of Communications and Director of Operations on the leadership team.

You will:

  • Cultivate existing and new partnerships with EXCOM members and other key national partners.
  • Lead and facilitate national stakeholder meetings and impactful engagements that spur action and collaboration among partners.
  • Provide leadership and project management to Action Alliance projects and serve in a supervisory role.
  • Promote equity, lived experience, and diversity as core components of Action Alliance initiatives.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are in place to launch and support Action Alliance Task Forces, Advisory Groups, and other EXCOM affiliated initiatives.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across suicide projects including the Action Alliance, the Suicide Prevention Resource Center, and other related projects. 

Qualifications

  • Experience building and cultivating strategic relationships with senior leaders.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and make swift and sound decisions.
  • Skill at building consensus, inspiring others to action, and leading cross-functional work teams.
  • Commitment to working on, and contributing to, a collaborative and mission-driven team focused on preventing suicide.
  • Strong facilitation and/or public speaking skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience and expertise in a related discipline (e.g., social impact, public health, suicide prevention, public policy, mental health, non-profit leadership) strongly preferred.
